HOOKED ON MY BEDROOM MAKEOVER

My bedroom makeover is almost complete. So, here is what my bedroom looks like now. I painted the walls a metallic oppery/brown from Wattyl's metallic pearl collection. It was quite a task to get it looking fairly even so that it shimmers just so. But I think I got it right and I love it!

And here is what my bedroom looked like before:

I got rid of the beige carpet and had the original kauri pine floorboards sanded

I repainted my off-white chair and chandelier to a shimmery shiny black

I bought a new shaggy rug for my tootsies on a cold winter morning

Everything is back in its place - bed, sidetables, chest of drawers, chair, chandelier, curtains, other decorative bits and pieces . . .

Now I just need to make a gorgeous headboard for my bed. Something like:

And I need a mirror above my fireplace and an artwork on the wall where the chair is . . .

Stay tuned!

  1. Congratulations on a job well done! Isn't it great when you are so pleased with the fruits of your labor? I liked how you said that you feel like you got the paint application right - not an easy task to pick the right color and get it up properly, especially a metallic.

You should submit this to Metamorphasis Monday on Between Naps on the Porch too (next Monday)!
